Brad, Katie & Bennett
The other week I zipped down to West Bend on a cloudy but warm afternoon to photograph the Bauer family. I always express my delight in a cloudy day for photo sessions because it is similar to having a huge softbox over our heads instead of a single direction of light. It also challenges me a bit to think outside of my normal flow which is always important for growth as an artist. Weather is always a topic of discussion when planning your photo session and I’m quick to reassure clients that cloudy days are just as beautiful as sunny days. In fact I sometimes prefer them over sun drenched evenings, makes each session unique!
I worked with Brad and Katie a few years back during an extended family session, but this was my first time meeting Bennett. He might be the most content 3 month old I have ever met, such a watcher! The whole session was calm and relaxing as we strolled through Ackerman’s Grove County Park – it was perfect! And not to mention all the laughs we had, it was like hanging out with old friends I hadn’t seen in forever but slipped right into comfortable conversation with as if it were no big deal. Love clients like these three ~ thanks for asking me to be a part of your story!
